Volunteers attend PACES EU Shelter training

Two Malta Red Cross volunteers joined members of the European Union for two days of extensive training in Emergency Shelter Construction.paces

Emergency shelter can quickly provide accommodation in the event of a major disaster.

Beyond survival, the key considerations for emergency shelter are to:

  • provide protection from the climate
  • ensure privacy and dignity
  • provide personal safety and security

The training consisted of theory, practical sessions and the construction of a shelter campsite.
