Malta Red Cross responds to a fire breakout

Malta Red Cross was called in to assist the Civil Protection Department and the personnel from the Accident & Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, after a fire broke out at Casa San Paolo Residential Home for the Elderly in Qawra. 

Malta Red Cross facilitated the evacuation of the elderly to the nearby Qawra Parish Church. Volunteers tended to the needs of the elderly, making sure that all those evacuated were accounted for.  Once given the all clear from the Civil Protection Department, the volunteers aided the elderly return safely back to the home.
