Malta safer as lifeguards patrol beaches

On June 1, a team of forty Malta Red Cross lifeguards began a daily patrol of Malta, covering nine beaches with a total of fourteen lifeguard towers. 

Malta Red Cross lifeguards can be found at:

• Mellieha Bay (three towers and one clinic)
• Golden Bay
• Ghajn Tuffieha
• Westin Dragonara Resort
• St. George’s Bay,
• Fond Ghadir
• Pretty Bay
• Fajtata
• Anchor Bay

The Society is also providing A First Aid Service at Exiles beach.

As well as patrolling beaches across Malta and providing First Aid and Rescue Services, lifeguards also monitor sea conditions and hoist the appropriate coloured flags to notify beachgoers of potential water hazards.
